Fresh leaks have unveiled detailed specifications, design changes, and promotional materials for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A17 5G, just days after its renders and European retailer listings surfaced online in both 4G and 5G versions.
According to the latest information, the Galaxy A17 5G will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 chipset, contradicting earlier rumors of the Exynos 1380.
The device will feature 128GB storage options with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB RAM, alongside a 256GB variant with 8GB RAM. Storage expansion via microSD card will support up to 2TB.
The handset measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.5 mm, weighs 192g, and boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2340, a 90Hz refresh rate, 1,100-nit peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
It houses a triple rear camera setup — a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera — along with a 13MP front camera for selfies. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, promising 0–50% charge in just 30 minutes.
Color choices will include blue, black, and gray. The Galaxy A17 5G is IP54-rated for dust and splash resistance and will ship with Android 15, backed by Samsung’s promise of six major Android updates and six years of security patches. Notably, its rear panel is crafted from glass fiber reinforced polymer, claimed to be stronger than the “Glastic” used on the Galaxy A16 5G.
The retail package is expected to include a 25W charger, USB Type-C cable, SIM ejector tool, and Quick Start Guide, though charger availability may vary by region.
Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A17 5G offers a slimmer and lighter build, a new chipset, improved camera stabilization with OIS, and a redesigned camera module — now a single oval island instead of separate round housings. While not a massive upgrade, the changes are aimed at refining the user experience.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy A17 5G soon, with more details on availability and regional pricing anticipated in the coming weeks.
