Samsung Galaxy H1 headphones could challenge Sony and Apple

Samsung is reportedly preparing a return to the premium over-ear headphone market with the Galaxy H1, featuring ANC, Bluetooth 6.0 and SSC UHQ codec support.

Samsung could be preparing a return to the high-end over-ear headphone market with a new device reportedly codenamed Galaxy H1, potentially positioning the company against products such as Sony’s WH-1000XM6 and Apple’s AirPods Max.

The latest information comes after the same source previously revealed references to the Galaxy Buds On, Samsung’s rumoured ear-hook wireless earbuds. New images now appear to show icons for the Galaxy H1 headphones, offering an early glimpse at Samsung’s potential premium audio product.

Samsung has not launched a flagship over-ear headphone in many years. The company’s previous entry in the category was the Level Over, released in 2014 with 50mm dynamic drivers, active noise cancellation, touch controls and a premium design.

The Galaxy H1 appears likely to target a similar high-end segment, although Samsung has yet to confirm the product or reveal its final specifications.

A reference found in the Galaxy Wearable app reportedly provides some details about the upcoming headphones. The device is said to support Bluetooth 6.0, Samsung’s SSC UHQ codec and active noise cancellation.

The headphones are currently known only by their Galaxy H1 codename, while their eventual commercial name remains unknown.

If launched, the Galaxy H1 could expand Samsung’s audio ecosystem beyond its Galaxy Buds range and give the company a direct competitor to premium wireless headphones from Sony and Apple.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is expected to release the headphones sometime in 2027. With the launch still potentially some time away, additional specifications and design details could emerge through further leaks in the coming months.

Samsung has yet to officially confirm the Galaxy H1 or provide information about its price, battery life, drivers, launch markets or final branding.
