Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra launches with Privacy Display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 60W charging, Galaxy AI features and refined design.
Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy S26 Ultra, delivering its annual flagship refresh with a slimmer build, improved privacy technology and faster charging speeds. The new Ultra model measures just 7.2mm thick and weighs 214 grams, making it thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Samsung has swapped titanium for aluminium while keeping Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the back.
The device features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 2,600 nits, and Corning Gorilla Armor 2 protects the panel. The S Pen returns for another year, although it still lacks Bluetooth support. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, anti-reflective coating and 12MP front camera remain standard.
A standout addition is Samsung’s new Privacy Display. The hardware-based feature selectively dims pixels when the screen is viewed from an angle, preventing bystanders from seeing sensitive information. It works alongside software controls to hide notifications, pop-ups and password entries, and can be activated manually or automatically when the phone detects public use.
Performance is powered globally by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. The base and mid-tier storage options pair 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, while the 1TB variant upgrades to 16GB RAM.
Camera upgrades are incremental but notable. The 200MP main sensor now features a wider f/1.4 aperture, capturing up to 47% more light in low-light conditions. The 50MP 5x telephoto lens also benefits from a brighter f/2.9 aperture, while the ultrawide camera remains unchanged.
Battery capacity stays at 5,000mAh, but wired charging increases to 60W, enabling a 0–75% charge in about 30 minutes. The device also supports 25W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
Running One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, the phone introduces expanded Galaxy AI tools, including enhanced photo editing, audio cleanup across major apps, spam call screening and contextual smart suggestions.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at €1,450, with pre-orders open now and global availability beginning March 11.
