A new leak suggests Samsung could reserve Snapdragon processors for its two premium flagships, while the standard Galaxy S27 models are expected to feature Exynos 2700 chips in most markets.
Samsung may equip its upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors in South Korea, despite reports that its next-generation Exynos 2700 chipset has outperformed Qualcomm’s rival processor in internal tests.
According to tipster yeux1122, Samsung’s decision to use Snapdragon chipsets in both premium models is reportedly driven by cost considerations. The company is said to be focusing on reducing expenses during the design and component selection process.
If the reported strategy is confirmed, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, while the Galaxy S27 Pro may use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.
The latest rumour comes despite earlier reports suggesting that Samsung was considering using its Exynos 2700 processor in the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro in South Korea and Europe.
However, subsequent leaks indicated that Samsung was reconsidering the plan, with the Ultra model potentially retaining Qualcomm’s chipset. The latest information now suggests that the company could extend the Snapdragon strategy to both premium models in its home market. Galaxy S27 and S27+ expected to use Exynos 2700
While Samsung may rely on Qualcomm processors for its two top-tier models, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are expected to follow a different hardware strategy.
According to previous reports, both smartphones could feature the Exynos 2700 in most markets. Snapdragon-powered variants are reportedly expected to remain available in North America.
This approach would allow Samsung to use its in-house processor across a larger portion of the Galaxy S27 lineup while retaining Qualcomm chipsets for selected premium models and regions.
The reported decision is particularly interesting because the Exynos 2700 has allegedly delivered better results than Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in Samsung’s internal testing. However, performance results alone may not determine the final processor selection, as production costs and component availability could also influence the company’s plans.
Galaxy S27 series may launch in early 2027
Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series is rumoured to debut in early 2027 with several hardware improvements.
The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are expected to receive an upgraded Privacy Display, while both premium models could feature a redesigned rear camera module.
However, Samsung has not officially confirmed the chipset configurations, specifications or launch schedule of the upcoming smartphones. The reported processor choices should therefore be treated as rumours until the company makes an announcement.
