New reports suggest Samsung could reserve next-generation memory and storage standards for higher-end Galaxy S27 models.
Samsung could equip its upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro smartphones with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.1 storage, according to a new report from South Korea.
The latest rumour suggests Samsung is still considering next-generation memory and storage technologies for its premium Galaxy S27 models, although they may not be available across every configuration.
A few days earlier, reports indicated that Samsung was considering using LPDDR5X memory for the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ instead of adopting LPDDR6. The latest information appears to reinforce the possibility that the standard S27 models could miss out on the newer memory technology.
According to the new report, the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro are expected to support LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.1 storage. However, Samsung could limit the new standards to one or more higher RAM and storage configurations, with entry-level versions potentially retaining older technologies.
The reported configurations for the Galaxy S27 series are relatively familiar. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is said to come with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, and a top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage option.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is reportedly expected to offer 12GB RAM with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 and S27+ could both feature 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB storage.
If accurate, the standard Galaxy S27 would start with 256GB of storage, an increase over previous entry-level configurations. The S27+ and S27 Ultra, meanwhile, would retain storage options similar to their predecessors.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is also reported to inherit the 1TB storage option from the Ultra, although with 12GB RAM rather than the Ultra’s 16GB configuration.
Samsung has not officially confirmed these specifications, meaning the reported RAM, storage and memory standards should be treated cautiously.
Recent certification information has reportedly revealed additional details about the premium models. The Galaxy S27 Pro is said to feature a 5,200mAh battery, while the S27 Ultra could have a 5,700mAh battery. Both are reportedly set to support 60W wired charging.
