Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to introduce several changes to its camera system and image processing when it launches in early 2027, according to a new leak.

The flagship smartphone is reportedly set to feature a redesigned rear camera module and one fewer camera sensor than the current Galaxy S26 Ultra. New information from well-known tipster Ice Universe now points to significant improvements in the way the device processes images.

One of the biggest changes could be a shift in colour processing. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is reportedly expected to produce warmer colours compared with the cooler tones associated with previous Ultra models.

The smartphone is also tipped to offer improved highlight control when photographing small, bright subjects from a distance. According to the leak, the improvement will apply to both the primary camera and the 5x telephoto sensor, potentially helping the phone preserve more detail in bright areas.

Low-light photography could receive another notable upgrade. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is reportedly expected to produce smoother images in darker conditions, with reduced noise in shadow areas. This could result in cleaner-looking night-time photographs while retaining more detail.

Ice Universe has also reiterated that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will reportedly retain only the 5x telephoto camera from the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The change would form part of a broader redesign of Samsung’s flagship camera setup.

The main camera is also expected to use Samsung’s ISOCELL HP6 sensor, described as a customised version of the company’s HPC sensor.

Samsung has yet to officially confirm the Galaxy S27 Ultra or its camera specifications, so the reported changes should be treated as leaks rather than confirmed features. More details are expected to emerge ahead of the smartphone’s anticipated 2027 launch.
