Samsung’s upcoming flagship strategy is becoming clearer as fresh leaks shed light on the Galaxy S27 series, expected to launch next year.

While the Galaxy S26 lineup, due to arrive next month, is rumored to feature a mix of Exynos and Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, earlier reports hinted that Samsung could shift entirely to its own silicon for the following generation. However, new information suggests that plan may not fully materialize—at least for the Ultra model.

According to well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will continue Samsung’s long-standing tradition of using an exclusive Snapdragon chipset, rather than an in-house Exynos solution. This move is likely aimed at maintaining top-tier performance and global consistency for Samsung’s most premium smartphone.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra is now said to feature a custom Qualcomm processor, reportedly named the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The chip will allegedly be manufactured using Samsung’s advanced 2nm fabrication process, marking a significant milestone for the company’s semiconductor division. If accurate, this would represent a major vote of confidence from Qualcomm in Samsung Foundry’s next-generation manufacturing capabilities.

Industry insiders note that TSMC is currently facing capacity constraints, pushing major chipmakers to explore alternative production partners. Samsung, meanwhile, is believed to have resolved earlier yield and efficiency issues, making its 2nm process more attractive to high-profile clients. Securing Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon order would significantly strengthen Samsung’s position in the global chip manufacturing race.

In contrast, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus models are expected to rely on Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2600 SoC, based on current rumors. This suggests Samsung will continue its dual-chip strategy, reserving Snapdragon processors for select flagship models while deploying Exynos chips in others, depending on market and positioning.

If these leaks hold true, Samsung’s 2027 flagship lineup will once again highlight a clear performance distinction within the series, with the Galaxy S27 Ultra positioned as the ultimate powerhouse for demanding users. As always, official confirmation is expected closer to launch, but the latest rumors are already generating strong buzz among Android enthusiasts.
