Samsung has set a new benchmark in the foldable smartphone market as its latest flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold7, achieves record-breaking pre-orders in the United States.

After years of facing tough competition from Chinese foldable devices, the tech giant has delivered a meaningful upgrade that consumers are responding to with unprecedented enthusiasm.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 have collectively surpassed all previous book-style foldable pre-order records in the country. Overall pre-orders climbed more than 25% compared to last year, while US carrier partners reported a staggering 60% increase in combined pre-orders for both the Fold7 and Flip7.

The devices officially became available last week, and sales momentum has continued to outpace the previous generation. Notably, the Galaxy Z Fold7 alone has outperformed its predecessor by nearly 50%, highlighting the growing demand for high-end foldable smartphones. Samsung’s focus on performance improvements, durability, and innovative design appears to have paid off.

Color preferences have also played an intriguing role in the Fold7 and Flip7’s success. Samsung revealed that the Blue Shadow variant accounted for almost half of all Fold7 pre-orders, signaling a shift from traditional black and silver models.

Meanwhile, the Coral Red color of the Galaxy Z Flip7 has exceeded expectations, representing 25% of its pre-orders. The company confirmed that these color trends have remained consistent throughout the first week of sales.

The surge in demand reflects growing consumer confidence in Samsung’s foldable lineup, which has faced stiff competition from brands like Huawei and Honor in recent years. By introducing meaningful upgrades and striking designs, Samsung has successfully reasserted its dominance in the foldable smartphone market.

With sales momentum continuing to rise, industry analysts suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 could redefine foldable adoption in the US. If these trends persist, Samsung may secure its strongest foothold yet in the premium smartphone segment.
