Samsung may soon raise the prices of several flagship smartphones launched last year, according to a new report. The potential price adjustment is expected to affect the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy S25 Edge, with changes reportedly set to take effect in South Korea.

The development comes as global memory chip prices have recently increased. Despite the rising component costs, Samsung had initially avoided passing these increases on to consumers for its older premium devices. However, the company now appears to be reconsidering that approach.

Price Increase Details

According to the report, the 512GB variants of the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy S25 Edge could receive a price increase of around KRW 100,000, which is roughly $65. Meanwhile, the 1TB storage models of these devices may see a larger increase of about KRW 200,000, equivalent to approximately $130.

The report did not mention any changes to the base 256GB variants. However, higher-storage versions of flagship devices often see the largest adjustments when manufacturing costs rise.

Possible Impact Beyond South Korea

At the moment, the rumored price hikes are expected to apply only to the South Korean market. Samsung has not confirmed whether similar adjustments will be introduced in other regions.

However, industry observers believe there is a possibility that other markets could also experience price changes if component costs continue to rise globally.

Higher Prices Already Seen in Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung’s latest flagship lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, has already launched with higher prices in several markets. In South Korea, all three models in the series reportedly debuted with price increases compared to their predecessors.

This trend indicates that the company may be adjusting pricing strategies to reflect the rising costs of advanced smartphone components such as memory chips and high-performance processors.

Premium Devices Still in High Demand

Despite potential price hikes, Samsung’s foldable smartphones and premium models remain among the most popular high-end devices in the market. The Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series, in particular, continue to lead the foldable smartphone segment globally.

If the reported changes take effect, consumers in South Korea may soon pay slightly more for higher-storage variants of these flagship devices. Samsung is expected to clarify its pricing strategy if the adjustments officially roll out.
