Samsung Electronics has opened reservations for its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 smartphones ahead of their expected unveiling at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, offering early registrants purchase incentives before pre-orders begin.

The reservation programme allows customers to register interest without committing to a purchase. Those who complete a reservation will be eligible for promotional offers once pre-orders officially open following the launch event.

Samsung offers $30 reservation credit

This year’s reservation promotion includes a $30 Samsung credit, which can be used toward eligible accessories and other products purchased alongside the new foldable smartphones through Samsung’s official online store.

The credit will only be available at checkout when customers complete a purchase of one of the new foldable devices.

The incentive is lower than last year’s reservation offer, which included a $50 Samsung credit.

Trade-in discounts could boost total savings

Samsung said customers could receive up to $1,230 in total savings, although the amount depends largely on eligible trade-in devices and other promotional offers available at the time of purchase.

Trade-in values and discounts are expected to vary by market and device condition.

Samsung revises launch giveaway

Samsung has also changed its promotional giveaway for this year’s launch.

Instead of offering a single $5,000 Samsung.com gift card, as it did during last year’s reservation campaign, the company will award ten winners with $500 Samsung gift cards each.

Pre-orders begin after Galaxy Unpacked

Reservations are now open and will remain available until July 22, when Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 during its Galaxy Unpacked event and begin accepting pre-orders.

The upcoming foldables are widely expected to feature updated designs, new Galaxy AI capabilities and hardware improvements as Samsung looks to strengthen its position in the premium foldable smartphone market.
