Samsung Electronics has once again secured the top spot in the global gaming monitor market, marking its seventh consecutive year as the world’s leading brand in this category. The company has maintained this position since 2019, continuing to dominate the high-performance gaming display segment.
According to the latest report by International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung captured 18.9% of the global gaming monitor market by revenue. This strong performance further reinforces the company’s leadership in gaming displays designed for competitive and immersive experiences.
In addition to dominating the overall market, Samsung also maintained the top position in the OLED gaming monitor category for the third consecutive year. The company achieved a 26% market share in this segment, highlighting the growing popularity of OLED technology among gamers seeking superior color accuracy, contrast, and visual performance.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation in gaming technology. He stated that Samsung continues to focus on delivering advanced display solutions through strategic partnerships with game studios and a long-term technology roadmap. According to Lee, expanding the gaming ecosystem and ensuring compatibility with multiple platforms remain key priorities for the company.
The brand’s reputation in the esports community also contributes to its strong position in the gaming display market. Professional esports player Lee Sang-hyeok, widely known as “Faker” from T1, praised Samsung’s displays, noting that even the smallest visual improvements can make a major difference during competitive gameplay.
Samsung recently demonstrated its latest gaming display innovations during the Game Developers Conference 2026 held in San Francisco. At the event, the company introduced its newest Odyssey gaming monitor lineup featuring advanced technologies such as glasses-free 3D gaming and HDR10+ Gaming support.
The 2026 Odyssey lineup includes several flagship models. The 27-inch Odyssey 3D delivers glasses-free 3D visuals using advanced eye-tracking technology for realistic depth. The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 offers 4K QD-OLED visuals with a 240Hz refresh rate, while the 32-inch Odyssey G8 introduces the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor with native 165Hz performance and support for DisplayPort 2.1.
Samsung also unveiled the 27-inch Odyssey G6, the world’s first gaming monitor capable of reaching a 1,040Hz refresh rate, designed specifically for professional esports players seeking ultra-smooth gameplay and rapid response times.
