Samsung S23 Series Receives Second One UI 8 Beta Update

S23

Samsung is moving forward with its Android 16-based One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S23 lineup.

Just a week after the first release, the company has begun rolling out the second beta update, bringing improved stability, bug fixes, and the latest security patch.

The One UI 8 Beta 2 update is currently rolling out in India and South Korea, with availability expected to expand to more regions in the coming weeks. The update package is approximately 500MB in size and includes the September 2025 Android security patch, ensuring enhanced device protection alongside performance optimizations.

While Samsung has not published a full changelog, early reports suggest that the second beta addresses several bugs identified in the initial release, improving overall system fluidity and reliability. Users can also expect refinements across the interface and under-the-hood enhancements designed to prepare the Galaxy S23 series for the eventual stable release of One UI 8.

Owners of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra who are enrolled in the beta program can check for the update manually. To do this, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update is available in your region, it will begin downloading immediately.

Beta programs such as this are a critical part of Samsung’s development process, allowing users to test upcoming features and provide feedback before the official rollout. With One UI 8 based on Android 16, Galaxy S23 users can look forward to enhanced customization, improved multitasking, and tighter security features once the stable version is released later this year.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the exact timeline for the stable One UI 8 release for the Galaxy S23 series, but given the speed of the beta rollouts, it is likely that the global launch could arrive before the end of 2025.

For now, Galaxy S23 owners in India and South Korea can enjoy early access to One UI 8 Beta 2, while users in other regions should keep an eye out for availability in the coming days.
