Samsung has announced a new partnership with Amazon that will see the Amazon Music app pre-installed on select Galaxy smartphones and tablets, while offering eligible users a complimentary three-month subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited.
The move, announced by Samsung’s U.S. division, is designed to give Galaxy users immediate access to Amazon’s music streaming platform. However, it remains unclear whether the initiative will be limited to the United States or expand to other markets.
Free Amazon Music Unlimited subscription included
Customers who activate the offer will receive a three-month Amazon Music Unlimited subscription at no extra cost. The service normally costs $13 per month and typically includes only a one-month free trial for new users.
The subscription provides access to more than 100 million songs, millions of podcasts, Ultra HD audio, Spatial Audio content, artist livestreams and exclusive merchandise.
Users will also receive one Audible audiobook each month, a benefit included with the subscription.
App now available through Galaxy Store
Samsung also confirmed that Amazon Music is now available through the Galaxy Store.
Existing Galaxy device owners may also qualify for the free three-month offer by downloading the app directly from the Galaxy Store rather than the Google Play Store.
While Amazon Music has long been available on Google Play, Samsung said its arrival on the Galaxy Store is part of a broader collaboration between the two companies.
Global rollout remains uncertain
Although Samsung U.S. announced the partnership, the accompanying statement refers to Amazon Music being pre-installed on “millions of select Samsung mobile and tablet devices globally.”
The companies have not clarified which Galaxy models will receive the app by default or whether the rollout will extend beyond the U.S. market.
Executives highlight partnership
Samsung said the collaboration is intended to expand premium entertainment experiences for Galaxy users.
“We are constantly finding new ways to deliver special benefits and value for our Galaxy users. Through our collaboration with Amazon Music, Samsung continues to elevate premium experiences across the Galaxy experience,” said Izzet Asayas, Head of CTV & Mobile Business Development at Samsung.
Karolina Joynathsing, Director of Business Development at Amazon Music, said the partnership gives customers immediate access to the streaming service.
“By pre-installing Amazon Music on select Galaxy devices and making it available in the Galaxy Store, we’re putting world-class audio entertainment in customers’ hands from the very first moment — with a free Amazon Music Unlimited trial to make that first experience truly exceptional,” she said.
The announcement comes as smartphone manufacturers continue expanding software partnerships aimed at offering bundled services alongside new devices.
