Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold7, marking the most significant upgrade in the foldable lineup to date.
Packed with Android 16 and One UI 8, the new device features upgraded displays, a dramatically thinner profile, and a flagship-level 200MP main camera.
Weighing just 215g, the Fold7 is now lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and 24g lighter than its predecessor, the Z Fold6. Samsung achieved this weight reduction using a redesigned Armor FlexHinge and a robust Armor Aluminum frame, resulting in a folded thickness of 8.9mm and just 4.2mm when unfolded — matching rivals like the Honor Magic V5.
The main display has increased to 8.0 inches, while the cover screen now spans 6.5 inches with a more practical 21:9 aspect ratio. Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, support 1-120Hz refresh rate, and reach up to 2,600 nits brightness.
The cover display is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and the inner screen uses a new generation of Ultra-Thin Glass, now 50% thicker. Samsung has also removed the under-display camera, replacing it with a 10MP punch-hole selfie cam.
On the back, the Z Fold7 houses a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, alongside a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The phone retains its IP48 rating and has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear panel.
Powering the Fold7 is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite for Galaxy, paired with 12GB or 16GB RAM, and storage options up to 1TB. It supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, while the software is backed by Galaxy AI features and Samsung’s promise of 7 years of OS and security updates.
Battery capacity remains 4,400mAh, with 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and online-exclusive Mint, the Fold7 starts at $2,000 (12/256GB). Pre-orders are open now, with official sales starting July 25.
