Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, its first-ever tri-fold smartphone, following months of leaks and an early prototype reveal.
This groundbreaking device showcases Samsung’s evolution in the foldable category, expanding its lineup to more than 16 foldable models. With the largest display ever seen on a Galaxy foldable and powerful flagship hardware, the Z TriFold marks a major milestone in Samsung’s innovation journey.
Dual Titanium Hinges and Unique Folding Design
The Galaxy Z TriFold introduces a distinctive folding mechanism featuring dual titanium hinges. These hinges allow both sides of the inner folding display to fold inward, fully protecting the large main screen when not in use. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT series, Samsung places the cover display on the back, creating a more secure and compact folded structure.
A Massive 10-Inch Folding Display
The highlight of the TriFold is its 10-inch folding screen, offering a crisp 2,160 x 1,584 resolution, adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. A 10MP punch-hole selfie camera sits on the right side, and Samsung includes a protective film similar to other Z-series devices.
The 6.5-inch cover display supports a 2,520 x 1,080 resolution, 1-120Hz refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio, and an impressive 2,600 nits peak brightness. It features Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection and also houses a 10MP selfie camera.
Enhanced Multitasking Powered by One UI 8
Running One UI 8 on Android 16, the Z TriFold enables powerful multitasking on its expansive canvas. Users can run three full-sized apps side by side in portrait mode. It also becomes Samsung’s first phone to feature standalone Samsung DeX, turning the device into a portable workstation with a desktop-like interface.
Premium Build, Strong Protection, and Flagship Chipset
The TriFold features an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame, measuring just 3.9mm at its thinnest point. When folded, it measures 159.2 x 75 x 12.9 mm and weighs 309 grams. The device is rated IP48 for dust and water resistance.
Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB or 1TB storage. The rear camera setup reflects the Z Fold7, featuring a 200MP main camera, 10MP 3x telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide lens.
Battery, Charging, and Availability
Samsung packs a 5,600mAh three-cell battery with support for 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. The Galaxy Z TriFold comes in a single Crafted Black color and is priced at KRW 3,594,000 (around $2,450) in South Korea. It will go on sale starting Friday, December 12, with global expansion planned for China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the U.S.
The Galaxy Z TriFold sets a new standard in foldable innovation, blending futuristic design with top-tier performance.
