Saudi Airlines to Facilitate 35,000 Pakistani Hajj Pilgrims

Hajj 2023

Islamabad, December 26, 2024 – Saudi Airlines has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Religious Affairs to facilitate the travel of 35,000 Pakistani government Hajj pilgrims for the upcoming pilgrimage season.

This deal, signed at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, outlines the provision of flights to transport pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2025.

The agreement was formalized with the signing of documents by Sultan Al-Harbi, the Country Manager of Saudi Airlines in Pakistan, and Dr. Syed Ata-ur-Rehman, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. During the signing ceremony, Al-Harbi reiterated Saudi Airlines’ commitment to ensuring that the Pakistani pilgrims experience a smooth and comfortable journey. He emphasized the airline’s readiness to provide top-tier services, highlighting Saudi Airlines’ longstanding efforts to enhance the travel experience for Hajj pilgrims from Pakistan.

On his part, Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman assured that all arrangements are being made to guarantee that Pakistani pilgrims receive the best possible travel facilities. He stressed the Ministry’s dedication to overseeing every aspect of the pilgrimage process, from travel arrangements to in-Saudi services, ensuring the comfort and safety of pilgrims.

This agreement with Saudi Airlines complements a prior arrangement with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which will also be responsible for facilitating the travel of another 35,000 government-sponsored Hajj pilgrims. The partnership with both airlines aims to streamline the transportation process, making it more efficient for the large number of pilgrims expected to travel from Pakistan.

Saudi Airlines’ participation in the Hajj operations is crucial given the airline’s extensive network and experience in handling the annual surge of Hajj travelers. As a key player in ensuring smooth travel logistics, Saudi Airlines is expected to manage the bulk of airlift services for the pilgrims, further solidifying its role as a trusted carrier for Hajj-bound passengers.

With the arrangements in place, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Saudi Airlines are focused on providing the best possible services to the pilgrims, making this year’s Hajj pilgrimage a memorable and hassle-free experience for the Pakistani community.
