Karachi, March 30, 2026 – Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) has announced the trial launch of its latest hybrid SUV, the TANK-500 Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT, marking a significant step toward advanced vehicle technology in Pakistan.
In a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company confirmed that its board of directors has approved trial operations of both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) variants. The first CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit rollout is expected by the end of March 2026.
The introduction of the TANK-500 Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT reflects Sazgar’s commitment to bringing modern, fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly vehicles to the local market. Equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged engine and advanced hybrid technology, the SUV is expected to deliver strong performance combined with improved fuel economy.
Alongside this development, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has successfully completed a major portion of its four-wheeler expansion project. The company invested approximately Rs6.5 billion in constructing a new assembly line, installing a 5.7-megawatt solar power system, and developing modern warehousing facilities.
The remaining Rs5 billion has been allocated to establishing a state-of-the-art, fully automated paint shop, which has now been incorporated into a revised expansion plan approved by the board.
Industry experts believe this move will strengthen Sazgar’s position in Pakistan’s growing SUV and hybrid vehicle segment, while also supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner and more efficient automotive solutions.
