Sazgar Engineering Works Limited is gearing up to expand its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) lineup in Pakistan with the local assembly of two new high-performance models: the Cannon Alpha Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT PHEV and the Tank-500 Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT PHEV.

The company has confirmed that both models will be rolled out as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units by end of March 31, 2026.

The Cannon Alpha PHEV is a rugged pickup truck that combines workhorse durability with hybrid efficiency. Designed to cater to both commercial and recreational users, it features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine integrated with a modern plug-in hybrid system and a 4×4 drivetrain for optimal performance across terrains.

Meanwhile, the Tank-500 PHEV offers a luxury SUV experience with power-packed off-road capabilities. It also carries a 2.0-liter turbo engine mated with a Hi4-T plug-in hybrid system and 4X4 traction, making it suitable for adventure seekers who value environmental sustainability.

These upcoming models signify a bold step by Sazgar in boosting its CKD hybrid offerings, reflecting the brand’s commitment to localizing advanced automotive technologies and reducing carbon emissions in Pakistan’s transport sector.

In a related move, Sazgar has also started pre-bookings for its first plug-in hybrid SUV in the country—the Haval H6 Hi4 1.5L AT AWD Turbo PHEV.

This model is expected to be the company’s first CKD hybrid launch, with deliveries anticipated in August 2025. Equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and all-wheel drive, the H6 PHEV is designed for efficient urban driving and eco-friendly performance.

The phased rollout of these three models underscores Sazgar’s strategic entry into the plug-in hybrid segment. With increasing interest in environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles, the company aims to cater to a growing base of eco-conscious Pakistani consumers.

By investing in local production and launching multiple PHEVs across diverse vehicle segments, Sazgar is positioning itself as a key player in the shift towards sustainable mobility in Pakistan.
