KARACHI: The field offices of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain open on Saturday December 31 for exchange old design and large size banknotes.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the central bank said that in terms of Federal Government Notification F.No.2(1)IF-III/2010 dated December 23, 2021 last date for exchangeability of old design large, size banknotes of Rs 10, 50, 100 and 1000 is December 31, 2022.
These banknotes are exchangeable from the field offices of State Bank of Pakistan’s subsidiary, namely, SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) only.
In order to facilitate the public, the SBP BSC field offices shall remain open on Saturday, December 31, 2022 up to 8:00 PM, besides working for extending hours on Friday December 30, 2022.
Public has been advised to get these old design, large size banknotes of Rs. 10, 50, 100, 1000 exchanged on or before December 31, 2022. After expiry of the above deadline, abovementioned banknotes shall no longer be exchanged.
