SBP Governor inaugurates JazzCash Experience Lounge

Islamabad, September 19, 2025 – Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Jameel Ahmad inaugurated the JazzCash Experience Lounge in Islamabad, marking another step toward strengthening Pakistan’s digital financial ecosystem.

He was accompanied by Deputy Governor SBP Saleem Ullah, VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu, JazzCash CEO Murtaza Ali, Jazz CEO and Chairman Mobilink Microfinance Bank Aamir Ibrahim, and Mobilink Microfinance Bank CEO Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary.

Speaking at the launch, Governor Jameel Ahmad emphasized that the JazzCash Experience Lounge will act as a dynamic platform to demonstrate the role of digital payments in expanding financial inclusion. “This initiative reflects the government’s vision of a digitally driven, cashless economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It also helps build trust in innovative payment solutions that are essential for long-term growth,” he noted.

Murtaza Ali, CEO of JazzCash, highlighted how the Lounge embodies the company’s mission to transform payments and empower people. “The JazzCash Experience Lounge demonstrates how technology can improve the way citizens pay, save, and run their businesses, ultimately improving lives across Pakistan,” he said.

The Lounge serves as an interactive hub where visitors can explore payment journeys at fuel stations, retail shops, and neighborhood vendors. It showcases JazzCash Tap, QR-based transactions, soundbox-enabled devices, and cutting-edge solutions such as palm verification, wearables, and digital tags.

With a customer base exceeding 53 million, JazzCash leads Pakistan’s digital financial services landscape. In 2024, it processed transactions equal to nearly 9% of the country’s GDP. Backed by a vast network of 600,000 merchants and 300,000 agents, and offering over 140,000 daily digital loans, the platform continues to empower small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs nationwide.
