Karachi, February 18, 2026 – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Wednesday announced the official bank timings for Ramazan 2026, starting from February 19, 2026. The revised timings are designed to accommodate the observance of the holy month while ensuring smooth banking operations across the country.
According to the notification, the State Bank of Pakistan will operate from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, without a break. On Fridays, office hours will be from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, also without a break. These timings will be followed by all commercial banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks nationwide.
For public-facing services, the SBP advised that banking hours for customers will be slightly shorter. From Monday to Thursday, public banking services will be available from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, while on Fridays, customer services will continue until 12:30 pm. The adjustment aims to facilitate both banking staff and customers during the fasting hours of Ramazan.
The SBP clarified that after the conclusion of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak 1447 A.H., all banks will automatically revert to their pre-Ramazan office and business hours. The announcement ensures that banks and financial institutions maintain operational efficiency while respecting the spiritual and cultural practices observed during the holy month.
Banking experts suggest that customers plan transactions in advance to avoid last-minute delays, particularly on Fridays, when shorter public banking hours are enforced. This initiative by the SBP reflects its commitment to streamline banking services while respecting the traditions of Ramazan.
