Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, the stars of the new sci-fi thriller Jurassic World Rebirth, endured some of the film’s most physically demanding scenes during production—making this reboot not just a cinematic marvel but also a behind-the-scenes feat.
One of the most grueling sequences was filmed in Thailand, where the actors were suspended mid-air using tight ropes and heavy harnesses. For several days, the duo performed stunts while swinging off cliffs and climbing artificial rock walls.
Bailey humorously recalled enduring “a full week of wedgies,” while Johansson admitted it was tough staying calm with ropes pulling from all directions.
The challenges didn’t end there. In Malta, the cast tackled another intense setup—scenes involving powerful water cannons under the blazing sun. Drenched and uncomfortable, Johansson and Bailey maintained their focus, delivering stellar performances despite soaked clothes and relentless water pressure.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World Rebirth features a powerhouse cast including Mahershala Ali, alongside Johansson and Bailey. The film reboots Universal’s legendary dinosaur saga with a fresh storyline, thrilling visuals, and a new generation of heroes.
The movie made a massive impact at the global box office during the July 4 holiday weekend, earning an impressive $318.3 million worldwide by July 6, 2025. In the United States and Canada, it pulled in $91.5 million over the first three days, with a five-day domestic total of $147.3 million.
International markets contributed $171 million across 82 countries, placing Rebirth among the year’s biggest franchise launches. It also ranks within the top 40 highest global openings in box office history.
Jurassic World Rebirth is not only a financial success but also a testament to the dedication and physical endurance of its cast. With its thrilling action and strong performances, the film sets a bold new direction for the iconic franchise.
