In a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson revealed that she actively pursued the role, going so far as to pitch herself directly to legendary filmmaker and franchise executive producer Steven Spielberg.

“I had a meeting with him, and I don’t actually know if he knew the depths of my Jurassic fandom,” Scarlett Johansson said. “I’m hoping that no one explained it to him too thoroughly because it maybe would’ve come off as being a little too much.”

The Avengers star went on to reflect on how the experience taught her an important lesson: genuine passion can make a difference. “Showing how much you care about a project isn’t a bad thing. It’s actually a good thing,” she said.
