Islamabad, June 18, 2025 – The capital city remains in the grip of a scorching heatwave as temperatures continue to soar with no immediate relief in sight. According to the latest weather forecast by AccuWeather, Islamabad will remain under the influence of intense heat and bright sunshine over the next few days, making daily life increasingly uncomfortable for residents.
On Thursday, June 19, the mercury is expected to reach a high of 41°C with a low of 30°C during the night. The RealFeel® temperature is projected to climb as high as 45°C, while the RealFeel Shade™ will hover around 41°C. With a Max UV Index of 12 – which is considered extreme – citizens of Islamabad are advised to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours and stay hydrated.
Friday, June 20, is forecasted to bring similarly scorching conditions, with daytime highs again touching 41°C. The RealFeel will remain dangerously high at 44°C, and the UV Index will stay at an extreme level of 12. Winds from the south-southeast are expected to blow at around 15 km/h, offering minimal cooling relief.
On Saturday, June 21, temperatures are predicted to dip slightly, reaching 39°C during the day and 26°C at night. However, despite this marginal drop, the scorching sensation will persist with a RealFeel of 43°C. Hazy sunshine and breezy afternoon conditions, accompanied by winds from the southeast at 20 km/h, will do little to mitigate the discomfort.
The scorching weather in Islamabad is being attributed to a persistent high-pressure system dominating the region, preventing cloud cover and rainfall. Health experts are urging residents, especially the old-age and children, to remain indoors during peak hours and to take preventive measures against heat-related illnesses.
Authorities in Islamabad have also advised caution for outdoor workers and have recommended limiting strenuous activity under the scorching sun. Emergency services remain on alert as the city continues to endure one of its hottest spells of the year.
