Selena Gomez has received heartfelt wedding wishes from an unexpected source — her kidney donor, Francia Raisa. The How I Met Your Father star addressed long-standing rumors of a fallout with Gomez, clarifying that reports of their feud were “just rumors.”
During a recent interview filmed at a bookstore event, Raisa spoke candidly about her relationship with Gomez and the singer’s upcoming wedding to Benny Blanco. While she reportedly did not attend the ceremony, Raisa took a moment to express her happiness for Gomez.
“I know she’s getting married, and I am very happy for her,” Raisa said in Spanish. “She has her own life, and she’s already a billionaire. I’m grateful that I could do that for her.”
Raisa emphasized that her 2017 kidney donation to Gomez was always about saving a life, not forming a deeper bond. “From the beginning, the doctors told me it’s a donation,” she explained.
For those unaware, Francia Raisa donated a kidney to Gomez after the Spring Breakers star was diagnosed with lupus. In a 2018 interview, Raisa shared that both she and Gomez experienced depression following the procedure, highlighting the emotional and physical challenges they endured together.
Despite past speculation, Raisa’s recent comments show there’s no bitterness — only support — for Gomez as she embarks on her new journey.
