Selena Gomez has expressed her excitement at the idea of Taylor Swift making a cameo in “Only Murders in the Building.”
The singer and actress, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, revealed her wish at the season four premiere last Thursday. “Oh dear, I love that!” Gomez told E! News when asked about Swift possibly appearing on the popular Hulu series.
Although the show has not yet been renewed for a fifth season, Gomez is hopeful about the future. She shared her desire for her close friend Swift to join the cast, saying, “I would love that.”
However, Gomez acknowledged that Swift’s busy schedule might make it challenging, humorously adding, “She’s a little busy, you guys.”
The conversation took a playful turn when Steve Martin, co-creator and star of the series, jokingly claimed that Swift calls them every day.
“Here – she’s calling right now. Ahh, I’ll take it later,” Martin quipped. Martin Short, Gomez’s co-star, also joined in on the fun, saying, “No, I was talking to Taylor around 3 a.m.”
Martin, 79, then took a moment to reflect on the long-standing friendship between Gomez and Swift, which began back in 2008 when they met through the Jonas Brothers. He praised both stars for their grace under pressure, saying, “Taylor Swift handles everything perfectly, and so does Selena.
In the situations I’ve seen – politically, with trolls, everything – she just seems to have a wisdom about how to do something quietly, effortlessly.”
Gomez, clearly touched by Martin’s words, added with a smile, “I wish I was recording that to send to her!”
While fans of both Gomez and Swift are eager to see this collaboration come to life, only time will tell if Swift will make an appearance in the hit show.
