Selena Gomez Reveals Her All-Time Favorite Song

Entertainment World

Selena Gomez has made a personal and heartfelt admission that delighted her fans. Last Wednesday, the multi-talented singer and actress appeared on Jake Shane’s popular podcast Therapuss, where she spoke candidly about her relationship with producer Benny Blanco, her beauty brand Rare Beauty, her health journey, her early acting days on Barney & Friends and Disney Channel, and her evolving music career.

During the conversation, Shane asked Selena what her favorite Selena Gomez song of all time was. Without hesitation, she laughed and answered, “Who Says,” a 2011 hit she performed with her former band, Selena Gomez and The Scene. The band was active from 2008 to 2012 before going on an indefinite hiatus, allowing Gomez to fully commit to her solo music career. “Who Says” was the lead single from the group’s final album When The Sun Goes Down.

“If you were to ask me, that is hands down my favorite,” Selena said. “Performing it is the most powerful moment for me. Honestly, the only reason I would ever do a tour again is so I could perform ‘Who Says’ like 17 times in a row.”

Written by Muni Long and Emanuel Kiriakou, the uplifting track encourages self-confidence and resilience—messages that still resonate deeply with Selena Gomez today. “It’s such a high, and it makes me feel good. I want other people to feel that too,” she explained. “When I was younger, I loved it because I thought everyone could relate. Now, I connect with it in a completely different way.”

The Only Murders in the Building star also joked about how the song’s pitch challenges her now. “Every year on tour, I’d have to take it down an octave because it’s way up here,” she said in a playful high-pitched voice. “I should recut it.”

Selena has been keeping busy, recently releasing her first album in four years, I Said I Love You First, in collaboration with fiancé Benny Blanco, following her 2021 Spanish-language EP Revelación. She continues to act and produce, working on Hulu’s hit series Only Murders in the Building, serving as executive producer for the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, and expanding Rare Beauty’s global reach.

When Shane teased, “If you recut ‘Who Says’ today, my world would shake,” Selena Gomez smiled and replied, “Maybe I should.”
