Pakistan Greens enter the final unbeaten, while Shaheen Afridi’s Gold look to upset the favourites in Multan.

Pakistan Greens will take on Pakistan Gold in the final of the Al Batal Presents University of Lahore National Champions Cup 2026-27 at Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, with Shadab Khan’s side aiming to complete an unbeaten campaign.

The Greens have won all three of their league matches and enter the title clash as favourites. Their opponents, led by fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, secured their place in the final after producing a convincing five-wicket victory over Pakistan Whites on Sunday.

The two sides have already met once in the competition, with Greens registering a commanding 128-run victory. Fakhar Zaman played a decisive role by scoring a century, while Mohammad Hasnain claimed three wickets. Shamyl Hussain was the only Gold batter to offer significant resistance with a quick half-century.

Fakhar remains the biggest threat for Gold heading into the final. The experienced left-hander currently leads the tournament’s batting charts with 238 runs from two innings, including two centuries. Farhan Yousuf, Omair Yousuf and captain Shadab will also be key contributors for Greens.

Greens are expected to strengthen their bowling attack with the return of Naseem Shah, who was rested for their previous league match. He has already taken four wickets in two appearances. Faheem Ashraf, Salman Mirza and Hasnain add further pace options, while Shadab and Mehran Mumtaz provide spin.

Gold will rely heavily on Shamyl Hussain for an aggressive start, while Haider Ali and Saad Khan will look to repeat their important partnership from the win over Whites. Kamran Ghulam is another experienced batter capable of handling pressure during the middle overs.

Shaheen, fresh from a three-wicket performance against Whites, will lead Gold’s bowling attack alongside Razaullah and left-arm wrist-spinner Faisal Akram. The tactical battle will also feature head coaches Misbah-ul-Haq and Ijaz Ahmed Jnr.

Shadab said Greens would aim to keep their approach simple in the final while remaining wary of a Gold side that reached the title clash after capitalising on a narrow opportunity.

The final is scheduled to begin at 3pm on August 18 at Multan Cricket Stadium, with Greens seeking to finish their dominant campaign by lifting the National Champions Cup trophy.
