Islamabad, August 22, 2025 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has appointed Syed Shakeel Shah, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Customs Service (PCS), as the new Member Customs Operations.

A formal notification confirming the appointment was issued on Friday, stating that Shah will assume charge upon joining FBR headquarters.

He will replace Wajid Ali, a BS-22 officer of PCS, who has been transferred and posted as Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (South), Karachi. Ali previously held the position of Member Customs Operations and is recognized as one of the most senior officers in the department.

In a related development, Muhammad Jamil Nasir Khan, BS-20 officer of PCS, has been transferred and posted as Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (North), Peshawar. He replaces an outgoing officer at the Karachi station, marking a significant reshuffle aimed at improving operational efficiency within Pakistan’s Customs network.

Furthermore, the transfer and posting order of Abdul Waheed Marwat (PCS/BS-20), mentioned at Sr. No.13 in Notification No. 1803-C-I/2025 dated August 7, 2025, has been officially cancelled ab initio. Officers drawing performance allowances will continue to receive them at their new postings, except those transferred to FBR headquarters in Islamabad.

The FBR has directed all concerned officers to submit charge relinquishment and assumption reports promptly for official record and further administrative action. The reshuffle is seen as part of FBR’s efforts to strengthen Customs operations nationwide.
