Islamabad, February 10, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted shallow fog in northeast Punjab for Sunday, 11 February 2024, as the country prepares for a cold and dry weekend.

The weather report indicates that most parts of Pakistan will experience chilly conditions, with very cold and partly cloudy weather expected in the upper regions.

As per the PMD’s weather report for Sunday, the synoptic situation reveals the prevalence of continental air over most parts of the country. The anticipated weather conditions for the upcoming weekend include mainly cold and dry weather across the nation, with the upper parts expecting very cold and partly cloudy skies. Shallow fog is expected to occur at a few places in the plain areas of northeast Punjab during the morning hours.

The weather on Saturday, 10 February 2024, reflected similar conditions, with cold and dry weather prevailing over most regions, and the upper parts experiencing very cold temperatures.

In the past 24 hours, the recorded lowest minimum temperatures in various areas were as follows: Leh at -14°C, Astore at -09°C, Skardu and Kalam at -08°C, Gupis at -07°C, Gilgit at -06°C, and Bagrote, Hunza, and Srinagar at -05°C.

The prediction of shallow fog in northeast Punjab raises awareness among residents and travelers, urging them to exercise caution during morning hours, especially while commuting.
