Shehbaz Sharif condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, vows Pakistan’s support

The prime minister reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to Saudi sovereignty and security, calling for an immediate halt to attacks on the Kingdom.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday strongly condemned repeated attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, including the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, which reportedly resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.

In a statement posted on X, the prime minister commended the vigilance and professionalism of the Saudi armed forces and the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition for intercepting multiple ballistic missiles and protecting civilians and vital infrastructure.

“Pakistan stands in unwavering solidarity with the leadership and people of our brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Shehbaz Sharif said.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security in line with the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and recent decisions taken by the Strategic Political and Defense Committee.

The prime minister also expressed Pakistan’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s right to defend its people, cities and critical infrastructure against attacks.

Pakistan calls for immediate halt to attacks

Shehbaz Sharif urged the Houthi militia to immediately cease its attacks on Saudi Arabia, reiterating Islamabad’s support for the Kingdom amid the security threats.

“The Houthi militia must immediately cease these attacks. We will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia in the face of these threats,” he said.

The prime minister’s statement underscored Pakistan’s declared commitment to maintaining close ties with Saudi Arabia and supporting the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
