Karachi, August 28, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) released its latest shipping activity update for Thursday, providing essential details on vessel movements and cargo operations to stakeholders.
The report, issued at 08:00 hours, summarizes all arrivals, sailings, and berthing activities over the past 24 hours at the country’s key maritime hub.
According to PQA, vessel movements remained consistent, reflecting strong trade flows through the port. The tanker M.T-LIA departed the terminal in the afternoon, completing its scheduled operations. Meanwhile, multiple vessels arrived for berthing, including M.T-AN 61, which docked at EVTL, and M.V-ZHONG CHANG HONG SHENG, a bulk carrier loaded with 54,648 metric tons of coal, which berthed at PIBT. Additionally, container ship M.V-MSC FALCON III and tanker M.T-BOLAN were also accommodated at dedicated berths later in the day.
Port officials highlighted that efficient handling of cargo remains a top priority to maintain seamless shipping schedules. With imports such as coal and petroleum products continuing to dominate inbound trade, the port has been operating at high capacity while ensuring quick turnaround times.
Industry experts note that shipping activity at Port Qasim reflects broader trends in Pakistan’s maritime trade, with increased reliance on efficient cargo handling to meet growing demand. The PQA reaffirmed its commitment to providing updated information to shipping agents, traders, and logistics operators for smooth operational planning.
