Karachi, March 19, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has issued its shipping activity report for Tuesday, March 19, 2024, providing valuable insights into the bustling maritime operations at one of Pakistan’s key ports.

Five vessels, including MSC Precision-V, Xpress Salween, Kotka, Crater, and Umm Bab, laden with Container, Wheat, and LNG, successfully docked at the Container Terminal, Grain Terminal, and Engro Elengy Terminal, respectively, on Monday.

Additionally, two more ships, Nimble Nicky and MSC Shy, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim within the past 24 hours, scheduled to load/offload Iron Ore and Container cargo.

During the reporting period, a total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths. Among them, three ships, namely Kotka, Xpress Salween, and Hafnia Shanghai, departed from the port earlier this morning. Meanwhile, three more ships, MSC Precision-V, Elephanta, and Melody, are anticipated to set sail later this afternoon.

The port witnessed a robust cargo handling activity, with a total volume of 191,327 tonnes of cargo handled, comprising 117,963 tonnes of import cargo and 73,364 tonnes of export cargo. This cargo was carried in 5,520 containers, with 2,194 TEUs of imports and 3,326 TEUs of exports.

At the outer anchorage of Port Qasim, eight ships were reported, including MSC Shy, Trans Spring, Log Sparta, Tethis-7, and Kano. These vessels are transporting various goods such as Containers, Steel coils, Mogas, Palm oil, and LNGs. They are expected to berth at QICT, MW-2, FOTCO, LCT, and PGPCL throughout Tuesday.

Looking ahead, another container ship named ‘Maersk Cabo Verde’ is scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, further contributing to the port’s bustling maritime activities.
