Karachi, December 3, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its daily shipping activity report, highlighting port operations on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The report provides detailed insights into vessel movements and cargo handling to assist stakeholders in tracking maritime activities.
Berthing and Departures
On Monday, four ships arrived and berthed at various terminals within Port Qasim:
• MSC Silavana-VIII: Berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal with containerized cargo.
• DM Bea: Docked at Liquid Cargo Terminal carrying palm oil.
• Iolaos: Arrived at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal with coal.
• Pacific ERA: Docked at FOTCO Terminal with motor gasoline (MOGAS).
Additionally, the container ship Maersk Newark anchored at the outer anchorage on Tuesday morning.
Within the past 24 hours, nine ships were engaged at PQA berths. Among them, MSC Silavana-VIII and AL JASRA departed from the port earlier today, while three more ships—YANNIS PITTAS, ABDULLAH M, and ANACOLUS—are scheduled to sail by afternoon.
Cargo Throughput
The port handled a total cargo volume of 94,501 tonnes over the last 24 hours. This comprised 51,676 tonnes of imports and 42,825 tonnes of exports, transported in 2,321 containers, including 270 TEUs for imports and 2,051 TEUs for exports.
Upcoming Activities
Thirteen ships are currently at the outer anchorage, awaiting their turn to dock. Of these, five vessels—Maersk Newark, Manticore, Neva, Chemroad Archid, and Brave Commander—are scheduled to berth today. They will load or offload various commodities, including containers, rice, palm oil, coal, and motor gasoline, at QICT, MW-2, LCT, PIBT, and FOTCO terminals, respectively.
In addition, two container ships—Maersk Newark and Cap Andreas—are expected to arrive at the port later on Tuesday.
