Karachi, January 7, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released the daily shipping operations report for Tuesday, January 7, 2025, to keep stakeholders informed about vessel activities. Port Qasim, one of Pakistan’s busiest and most vital seaports, continues to handle significant maritime traffic with efficiency and precision.
Sailing of Vessels
At Port Qasim, the vessel M.V-African Bari Bird departed after completing its operations. The ship, measuring 199.98 meters in length, carried a substantial cargo of 40,084 metric tons of cement. With a draft of 6.57 meters both aft and forward, it sailed out at 15:00 under the management of Crystal Sea Services from berth M/W-II.
Berthing of Vessels
Port Qasim also saw a steady influx of incoming vessels on January 7, showcasing the port’s robust handling capabilities:
1. M.T-Tivoli Park: A 145.50-meter-long vessel carrying 18,815 metric tons of phosphoric acid berthed at 09:00. The ship had an aft and forward draft of 10.40 meters and was managed by Eastwind Shipping at berth EVTL.
2. M.V-Maersk Pittsburgh: This 299.50-meter-long container vessel berthed at 09:30. With a draft of 11.90 meters on both ends, it was managed by GAC Shipping at berth QICT-VII.
3. M.V-MSC Lausanne VI: A 283-meter-long vessel docked at 15:00. Its operations were coordinated at berth QT2-II, continuing Port Qasim’s legacy of efficiently handling containerized cargo.
4. M.T-Bitumen Kosei: Carrying 4,450 metric tons of bitumen, this 102.51-meter-long vessel docked at 15:15. With a forward and aft draft of 4.80 meters, it was managed by Transmarine at berth M/W-I.
