Karachi, December 11, 2024 – Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has outlined its shipping operations for Wednesday, December 11, 2024, ensuring smooth facilitation for stakeholders and cargo handling at the port.

A total of five vessels, including Maersk Seleter, Diamond, Solar Roma, SM Navigator, and Spar Octans, were berthed at various terminals at Port Qasim on Tuesday. These ships are scheduled to load and unload a range of goods, including containers, rice, palm oil, gas oil, and coal. They docked at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, and Power Electric Port Terminal.

In the last 24 hours, four additional vessels—GFS Ruby, Saga, Anikitos, and Milah Qatar—arrived at the outer anchorage. These ships are carrying containers, palm oil, soya bean seed, and LNG, further contributing to the port’s busy operations.

Over the past day, a total of 11 ships were engaged at the PQA berths, continuing the steady flow of trade. Among them, the chemicals carrier ‘Jipro Neftis’ departed this morning, while two more vessels, Maersk Seleter and SM Navigator, are expected to set sail later today.

During the past 24-hour period, the port handled a substantial cargo volume of 121,435 tonnes, consisting of 95,555 tonnes of imported goods and 27,880 tonnes of exported cargo. The shipment was carried in 2,643 containers, with 1,590 TEUs dedicated to imports and 1,053 TEUs for exports.

At present, 19 vessels remain anchored at Port Qasim’s outer anchorage. Among them, two ships—Gaschem Warnow and Milah Qatar—along with Maersk Cairo and CMA CGM La Scala, are expected to dock today at the EVTL, EETL, and QICT terminals, carrying chemicals, LNG, and containers. Additionally, two more container ships, One Recommendation and Teno, are expected to arrive at the port on Thursday.

These operations highlight Port Qasim’s vital role in facilitating trade and maintaining an efficient cargo flow, ensuring continued operations and service to all maritime stakeholders.
