Karachi, December 13, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has announced its shipping operations for Friday, December 13, 2024, to ensure smooth facilitation for stakeholders.
On the previous day, five ships, including Teno, GFS Ruby, Split, DM Corndor, and Maran Gas Efessos, carrying a diverse range of cargo such as containers, soya beans, chemicals, and LNG, berthed at various terminals across the port. These ships were stationed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, and Port Gas Terminal.
In addition to these, six more vessels arrived at the outer anchorage within the past 24 hours. These ships—River Side, EVA Pearl, Wisco Adventure, Sea Wolf, Hafnia Excellence, and Spar Vega—are scheduled to load and offload a range of products, including furnace oil, palm oil, mogas, gas oil, and coal.
Over the last 24 hours, a total of 11 ships have been engaged at the port’s berths. Among these, Teno, GFS Ruby, and Milaha Qatar departed this morning. In the afternoon, three more ships—Acuity, DS Sofia Bulker, and DM Condor—are expected to set sail, completing their respective cargo operations.
Port Qasim handled a total cargo volume of 123,640 tonnes during the past 24 hours. This included 110,244 tonnes of import cargo and 13,396 tonnes of export cargo, transported in 1,640 containers (1,015 TEUs for imports and 625 TEUs for exports). The steady flow of cargo highlights the port’s critical role in maintaining Pakistan’s trade activities.
Looking ahead, 12 ships are currently anchored at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, Ken Colon, Kouras Queen, River Side, and MSC Positano are scheduled to berth at MW-1, MW-2, FOTCO, and QICT today, with plans to load and offload rice, furnace oil, and containers. Additionally, SSL Godavari, another container ship, is expected to arrive at the port on Saturday.
