Karachi, December 17, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released details of shipping operations for Tuesday, December 17, 2024, to keep stakeholders informed about the ongoing activities.
Shipping activity at the port was robust, with seven vessels—Cussler, Limco Logger, Amis Queen, Sea Fortune, Hafnia Excellence, Al-Diab-II, and Al-Deebel—berthing at various terminals. These ships were engaged in loading and unloading diverse cargo, including containers, rice, canola, gas oil, LPG, and LNG. The operations took place at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Sui Southern Gas Terminal, and Engro Elengy Terminal, respectively.
In addition, six more vessels—Jaru Bhum, Maersk Hartford, Dolphin-19, St. Nikolai, Hafnia Providence, and Al-Areesh—arrived at the outer anchorage during the past 24 hours. These ships are carrying containers, palm oil, mogas, and LNG, reflecting the diverse trade activity facilitated by Port Qasim.
A total of eleven ships were actively engaged at PQA berths over the past 24 hours. Among these, four vessels—Cussler, Anikitos, Al-Diab-II, and Sea Fortune—are scheduled to depart today after completing their operations.
The port handled a substantial cargo volume of 178,395 tonnes within the last 24 hours. This included 127,070 tonnes of import cargo and 51,325 tonnes of export cargo. Additionally, 2,960 containers, comprising 1,475 TEUs of imports and 1,485 TEUs of exports, were processed during this period.
Currently, 25 vessels are stationed at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Of these, four ships—Saga, Maya Gas, Al-Areesh, and Maersk Hartford—along with another vessel, MSC Positano, carrying palm oil, LPG, LNG, and containers, are expected to berth at Liquid Cargo Terminal (LCT), Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Terminal, Pakistan Gas Port Consortium Limited (PGPCL), and Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT) today. Furthermore, two additional ships, Lotus-A and Maersk Cape Town, are anticipated to arrive at the outer anchorage soon.
