Karachi, December 5, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has issued an update on its shipping operations for Thursday, December 5, 2024, to facilitate stakeholders and ensure smooth logistical management.

On Wednesday, six vessels—Cap Andreas, Valence, Marathopolis, CMA CGM Nabucco, AU Taurus, and Venus—docked at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, and Sui Southern Gas Terminal, respectively. These ships were carrying essential commodities, including containers, palm oil, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Additionally, three ships—BAM BAM, EM Zenith, and Seafortress—arrived at the port’s outer anchorage within the last 24 hours.

During this period, a total of 12 vessels were stationed at various PQA berths. Of these, three vessels—Cap Andreas, Valence, and Chemroad Orchid—departed from the port on Thursday morning. Another three vessels, CMA CGM Nabucco, Marathopolis, and Greentec, are expected to set sail later today.

The port handled a cargo volume of 129,231 tonnes over the past 24 hours. This included 92,577 tonnes of imported goods and 36,654 tonnes of exports. A total of 4,942 containers (comprising 3,396 TEUs of imports and 1,546 TEUs of exports) contributed to this cargo activity.

Currently, 11 vessels are anchored at Port Qasim’s outer anchorage. Among these, four ships—Acuity, EM Zenith, Seafortress, and Jaru Bhum—and three others—Tiru, X-Press Mekong, and One Readiness—are expected to dock today at terminals including MW-1, FOTCO, PQEPT, and QICT. These ships are carrying palm kernel, gas oil, coal, and containers.

Looking ahead, three additional container ships—MSC Maria Clara, MSC York-VII, and X-Press Salween—are scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday, December 6, 2024.

The PQA continues to prioritize efficiency and coordination to support Pakistan’s trade and logistics sector effectively.
