Karachi, February 7, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released an update on shipping operations for Friday, February 7, 2025, ensuring smooth cargo movement and efficient port management.
The latest report highlights ongoing and scheduled shipping activities at the port, accommodating both imports and exports to facilitate trade.
Shipping Arrivals and Departures
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, five vessels—Nagoya Express, SSL Brahmaputra, ONE Reassurance, and GFS Ruby—all carrying containers, berthed at the Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT). Additionally, three more vessels—MSC Positano, Bolan, and Woodside Charles Allen—carrying containers, motor gasoline (Mogas), and LNG, respectively, arrived at the outer anchorage within the last 24 hours.
At present, thirteen ships are actively engaged at Port Qasim’s berths. Among them, Nagoya Express and SSL Brahmaputra departed early Friday morning, while five other ships—GFS Ruby, ONE Reassurance, Nakhal Silver, Alaa, and Al-Areesh—are scheduled to set sail later today.
Shipping Cargo Volume and Handling
A total cargo volume of 172,825 tonnes was handled at the port within the last 24 hours. This includes 117,350 tonnes of imported cargo and 55,475 tonnes of exported goods, processed in 3,874 containers (2,448 TEUs of imports and 1,426 TEUs of exports).
The efficient shipping operations at Port Qasim contribute significantly to Pakistan’s trade and logistics network, ensuring that importers and exporters receive timely services.
Outer Anchorage and Upcoming Shipping Activity
Currently, 11 ships are stationed at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Of these, five vessels—MSC Positano, Saga, Bolan, EVA Diamond, and Woodside Charles Allen—carrying containers, palm oil, motor gasoline, chemicals, and LNG, are scheduled to berth at QICT, LCT, FOTCO, EVTL, and EETL terminals, respectively, on Friday.
Additionally, another container vessel, X-Press Kohima, is expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
