Karachi, January 1, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) issued an update on shipping operations for January 1, 2025, detailing vessel movements and ongoing activities at the vital maritime hub. Port Qasim continues to serve as a key node in Pakistan’s logistics and trade network, managing diverse cargoes efficiently.
Sailing Operations
Port Qasim saw the successful departure of several vessels. Among them was the container ship M.V. Maersk Chicago, which sailed from the QICT-VII terminal at 13:00 hours. Another notable departure included the M.T. White Shark, carrying LPG, which left the SSGC berth at 15:30 hours. Port Qasim also facilitated the export of 15,176 metric tons of rice aboard the M.V. F Line from the M/W-I terminal.
Berthing Operations
New arrivals at Port Qasim further underline its role in sustaining Pakistan’s trade momentum. The M.V. IVS Crimson Creek, carrying 55,000 metric tons of coal, berthed at the PIBT terminal at 12:30 hours. Similarly, the M.V. Amabiko, with a substantial shipment of 56,464 metric tons of canola seed, docked at the FAP terminal. Container vessels, including the M.V. MSC Positano and M.V. CMA CGM Cendrillon, also secured berths at designated terminals, ensuring continuity in containerized trade.
