Lahore: The Chairman of Sindh Revenue Board (SRB), Dr. Wasif Memon, visited the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) headquarters for high-level talks on enhancing tax administration and implementing sales tax on services across provinces.
During the visit, PRA Chairman Muazzam Iqbal Sipra briefed Dr. Memon on departmental operations, ongoing reforms, and the performance of enforcement officers. The discussions focused on services sales tax implementation, institutional reforms, and strengthening inter-provincial cooperation.
Both authorities agreed to boost revenue collection through effective data sharing, capacity building, and the adoption of modern technology. They also reviewed recommendations for expanding the tax net by improving coordination between provinces. Dr. Memon emphasized that joint initiatives would be launched to facilitate businesses and promote a positive tax culture nationwide.
He also appreciated PRA’s efforts in implementing reforms and achieving record revenue collection during the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, Chairman PRA highlighted that mutual cooperation would continue in legislation and taxation of service sectors that have historically remained outside the tax net, ensuring a more comprehensive and transparent tax system.
The meeting underscores the commitment of both provinces to modernize tax administration, enhance compliance, and provide a conducive environment for the business community. Officials confirmed that ongoing collaboration will include workshops, training programs, and digital solutions to further streamline tax processes efficiently.
