The Sindh education department has officially announced the schedule for winter holidays in schools and colleges across the province.

According to a notification issued by the department, all public and private educational institutions will observe a 10-day winter vacation starting December 21, 2024.

The announcement comes following a decision made during a Sub-Committee meeting of the Steering Committee on Education.

The meeting, held on January 25, 2024, was chaired by the Honorable Minister for Education Sindh. The notification confirmed that the holidays will begin on Saturday, December 21, and continue until Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

As per the notification, regular academic activities will resume from Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Schools and colleges are expected to reopen as per their normal schedules after the winter break.

The winter vacation schedule applies to all educational institutions under the administrative control of the Sindh government, including both public and private schools and colleges.

Parents, teachers, and students across the province are advised to take note of these dates to plan accordingly.

The announcement has been welcomed by many families and educators who see the winter holidays as a much-needed break for students during the colder months. The timing of the vacation aligns with the annual academic calendar, ensuring minimal disruption to the learning process.

Educational institutions are also encouraged to communicate the winter holiday schedule to parents and staff to avoid any confusion. Schools are expected to plan for the continuation of academic activities after the break to ensure syllabus coverage remains on track.

With the notification now in effect, students can look forward to a brief respite before starting the new year with renewed focus and energy.

The Sindh education department remains committed to ensuring a balanced academic calendar that accommodates the needs of students, teachers, and institutions alike.

The department has also advised schools to ensure that safety and security measures are maintained during the winter holidays. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children’s activities during the break and make the most of this time to strengthen family bonds and encourage educational growth.
