Karachi, December 11, 2025 – The Sindh Education Department has officially announced the winter vacation schedule for schools across the province. According to a spokesperson, all public and private educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed from December 22 to December 31, 2025, for the annual winter break. Schools are scheduled to reopen on January 1, 2026, marking the start of the new academic term.
The spokesperson clarified that supplementary examinations organized by the education boards will continue as planned and will not be affected by the winter break. This ensures that students appearing for exams can follow their pre-announced schedules without any disruptions.
The announcement from Sindh follows a similar declaration by the Punjab government, which recently set the winter vacation period for all schools in the province. According to Punjab’s notification, winter vacations in public and private schools will be observed from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, with schools reopening on January 10, 2026.
Education authorities in Sindh have urged students, parents, and school staff to plan accordingly and make productive use of the break. Many schools are expected to organize co-curricular activities, winter learning programs, and extra classes before and after the vacation to ensure academic continuity.
The annual winter vacation provides a valuable opportunity for students to rest, engage in creative pursuits, and prepare for the upcoming semester. Parents are advised to ensure children maintain a balanced routine during the break, combining relaxation with learning activities.
