Karachi, March 7, 2026 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted hot and dry weather across most districts of Sindh on Sunday, March 8, 2026, with daytime temperatures expected to remain high in several parts of the province.
According to the PMD forecast, hot and dry conditions are likely to persist across Sindh on Saturday night, continuing into Sunday. Meteorologists expect daytime temperatures to range between 35°C and 37°C in many areas, while some southern districts could record even higher readings.
Weather officials have advised residents to take precautionary measures against heat exposure, particularly during peak daytime hours.
National Weather Outlook
At the national level, the PMD said a shallow westerly trough is currently affecting the extreme northern parts of the country and may persist until Saturday night.
On Saturday, mainly dry weather is expected in most regions of Pakistan, while partly cloudy conditions may prevail in hilly areas. However, isolated light rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by light snowfall over high mountains, are possible in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
For Sunday, dry weather is likely to dominate across the country, though partly cloudy conditions may continue in northern areas, including Kashmir and northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The PMD also warned that daytime temperatures in the plains are expected to remain above normal.
Weather in the Past 24 Hours
Over the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed in most parts of Pakistan, while cold conditions were recorded in hilly regions during early morning and night hours. Light rain and drizzle were reported at isolated locations in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded included Kalam (12 mm), Drosh (3 mm), Dir (2 mm), Chitral (1 mm), Gupis (3 mm), Astore (3 mm), Bunji (1 mm), Chilas (1 mm), and Skardu (1 mm).
Meanwhile, the highest temperatures recorded on Saturday were 39°C in Mithi, while 38°C was recorded in Turbat, Shaheed Benazirabad, Lasbela, Hyderabad, and Chhor.
Weather experts say heat levels may gradually intensify in southern Pakistan over the coming days, particularly in Sindh and parts of Balochistan. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.
