Islamabad, July 18, 2024 – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted thundershowers for upper and southeast Sindh on Friday, July 19, 2024. This weather pattern is expected to bring some relief to the otherwise hot and humid conditions prevailing across the region.
The PMD’s daily weather bulletin highlighted that while most parts of the country will experience hot and humid weather, rain-windstorms or thundershowers are anticipated in several regions. These include Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Punjab, southeast and upper Sindh, as well as northeast Balochistan.
The synoptic situation indicates that monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper and central parts of Pakistan. Additionally, a westerly wave is present over the upper regions and is likely to impact central and upper areas from this evening or night.

Similar weather conditions are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, central and southern Punjab, southeastern and lower Sindh, and northeastern Balochistan during the afternoon.
The past 24 hours saw hot and humid weather dominate most parts of the country. However, isolated places in Punjab, southeast and lower Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Kashmir experienced rain-wind or thundershowers.
