Karachi, December 3, 2025 – The Sindh government has announced the official schedule for presenting the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, outlining key deadlines for departments and ministries ahead of the budget session.
According to the official notification, the Budget 2026-27 will be submitted for cabinet approval and provincial assembly consideration by the first or second week of June 2026. The Finance Division has been tasked to complete all budget documents, schedules, and summaries for the cabinet by May 29, 2026.
Meanwhile, the Planning and Development Department (P&DD) is required to present the Annual Development Plan (ADP) for the fiscal year 2026-27 to the provincial cabinet by the third or fourth week of May 2026. The government is expected to finalize new taxation proposals and review existing taxes and fees by April 30, 2026. Additionally, all relevant ministries have been instructed to finalize the Medium Term Budgetary Framework (MTBF) 2026-27 to 2028-29 by March 31, 2026.
The Sindh government continues to implement its Public Financial Management (PFM) Reform Strategy, approved in August 2021, aimed at improving service delivery, administrative efficiency, and fiscal accountability. While the PFM reforms are being implemented in phases, they significantly influence the budget process, ensuring greater transparency and performance-based planning for the 2026-27 provincial budget.
These measures reflect Sindh’s ongoing commitment to structured financial management, improved governance, and sustainable economic planning for the coming fiscal year.
