Sindh weather: brutal heatwave strikes with scorching fury

Hot and Humid Weather

Islamabad, May 27, 2025 – The searing weather in Sindh is about to intensify even further! According to a sensational update issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Wednesday, May 28, 2025, will bring very hot and dry weather across nearly the entire province.

The heatwave is set to tighten its grip, turning Sindh into a blazing furnace with temperatures expected to soar.

Residents of Sindh, already reeling under relentless sunshine, should brace themselves for another punishing day under the scorching sun. The PMD has officially warned of very hot and dry conditions in most districts, with gusty winds likely to hit coastal regions by the afternoon. In upper areas of the province, there’s some minor relief expected in the form of partly cloudy skies—but don’t expect much coolness.

On Tuesday, May 27, the weather across Sindh was equally merciless. Very hot and dry conditions dominated, with Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Dadu experiencing brief moments of relief through light showers or thunderstorms. However, these pockets of weather activity did little to cool the region as temperatures soared above 45°C in many areas. Mithi recorded a blistering high of 46°C, with Jacobabad, Dalbandin, Badin, and Chhor not far behind at 45°C.

The broader national weather outlook also points to rising heat. A westerly wave is expected to sweep into the upper and western regions of Pakistan tonight, bringing some rain and thunderstorms to parts of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Punjab. But central and southern Pakistan—including Sindh—will continue to bake under the punishing sun.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, the heat will not let up. The PMD reiterates that hot and dry conditions will dominate across most of the country, with only a few northern regions seeing any rain. The southern plains, especially Sindh, will remain trapped under a brutal heatwave.

This is the fifth consecutive day that very hot and dry weather has taken over Sindh, making it one of the hardest-hit regions in Pakistan. Citizens are strongly advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and take all necessary precautions against heatstroke. This summer in Sindh is shaping up to be one of the hottest in recent memory.
