Islamabad, January 14, 2026 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an updated weather forecast for Sindh province, predicting continued cold and dry conditions across most districts over the next two days. The advisory highlights reduced visibility due to fog in several key areas, urging commuters and transporters to exercise caution.
According to the PMD, Wednesday will remain cold and dry in most parts of Sindh, while moderate to dense fog is expected to persist in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjodaro and nearby localities. Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Thursday, with foggy conditions expected during late night and early morning hours.
At the national level, the PMD said continental air continues to dominate most regions of the country. However, a westerly weather system is likely to enter western and upper areas from Wednesday evening or night, which may influence temperatures in the coming days.
For Wednesday and Thursday, mainly cold and dry weather is forecast across most parts of Pakistan, while hilly areas are expected to experience very cold conditions. Moderate to dense fog may prevail over Punjab, upper Sindh and the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Frost is also likely at isolated locations in the Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during morning hours.
During the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated most regions, with severe cold in northern areas. The lowest recorded temperatures included Leh and Skardu at minus 11 degrees Celsius, Gupis at minus 9, Astore and Gilgit at minus 8, Bagrote at minus 7, and Hunza at minus 6 degrees Celsius.
