Islamabad, June 23, 2025 — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that Sindh will continue to experience very hot and humid weather over the next 24 hours.
According to the latest weather advisory issued on Monday, June 23, most districts across Sindh will remain under the grip of intense heat and high humidity levels.
For Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the PMD expects hot and very humid weather to persist across the province. The weather conditions are not expected to improve significantly, particularly in central and southern Sindh, where temperatures will likely remain elevated. The department has urged residents to take necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun.
The weather report also noted that partly cloudy skies are expected in some areas of Sindh on Monday. However, these cloud patches are not likely to bring any significant relief. In fact, dust-raising winds may occur in the upper and central parts of the province, further adding to discomfort levels in cities already dealing with oppressive humidity.
At the national level, moist currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal continue to penetrate the upper and central regions of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also affecting the upper parts of the country, leading to a mixed weather pattern. As a result, rain-wind/thundershower activity is expected in Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and parts of Upper and Central Punjab on both Monday and Tuesday.
Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed across most parts of Pakistan, while plain areas remained under very hot conditions. Pre-monsoon showers occurred in parts of Upper Punjab, Islamabad, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rainfall was recorded in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, among other cities.
In terms of temperatures, Sindh remained one of the hottest regions in the country. Jacobabad topped the list with a scorching 47°C, followed closely by Dadu and Sibbi at 46°C. Other Sindh cities like Khairpur and Mohenjo Daro recorded maximum temperatures of 45°C, indicating the severity of the current heatwave sweeping the province.
The PMD advises citizens, especially in Sindh, to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and monitor local weather updates for any changes.
